Microsoft Dynamics Community – Microsoft Dynamics AX

The community page has been significantly redone. I apparently haven’t checked it out in a while, but it looks pretty snappy. If you haven’t seen it, or are looking for another place to network with DAX folks – check it out!

Notification “Report is scaled xx percent to fit to page”

I saw this thread… it is a complaint I have heard from time to time, but finally saw a suggestion.

Original Thread

The notification „Report ist scaled 71 percent to fit to page“ is very
distracting, causes extra work and should be able to be deactivated per
parameter.
An adjustment would be very time-consuming for us, because it concerns a
kernel functionality.
This notification should be able to be deactivated per parameter.

Reply 1:

You can disable the scaling of a report with a property on the report
but then the report wont be scaled , so anything that falls of the report
wont be visible
(thats why axapta scales your report to 71% because otherwise all data wont
fit on the page)

Reply 2:  (Link to authors blog)

Actually, you can disable this message :)
The ReportRun contains the PrintJobSettings.

And PrintJobSettings
PrintJobSettings.suppressScalingMessage
You can set this property from code in the init method of the report.

AX Group – Microsoft Public Axapta

This is actually a Usenet group, so there isn’t a specific “site” to visit this group.

Microsoft’s Page

Google Groups – My method

A newsreader – There are a few of them out there.

This is a well trafficked newsgroup.

Site Rating: 15

I find the newsgroup extremely useful, so it gets a top ranking. However, there is some variability in that depending on how you access it. Really, whatever your preferred method is works. I would recommend against using the MS web reader. I have had problems with it every single time I have tried to reply to a post from there. The google group however interfaces really nice with it and works great. (The aesthetic appeal is there too.)

Check it out!

AX Group – Optimal Axapta Development

For the developer types out there… this is a Yahoo Group to check out. I am fairly new to this group, having just discovered it in the past week, but it has a large membership and looks to be a great resource.

This is another great group. Once again, I have become a bit of the fan of the Yahoo Groups setup. It really works in this case, and having an archive of messages can really help in dev type issues. Check it out!

AX Group – Axapta Knowledge Village

This particular group I have been a member of myself for over a year. It is a bit heavy on the Q&A, but that is what has made it a great group to follow. I have been particularly impressed that generally speaking, when a question is asked, someone in the group does make make an effort to answer the question or point in the right direction.

Normally stock sites are poor design, however Yahoo Groups has a really nice setup. You can also set it to email you daily digests of the posts made, which is how I have my membership setup. I certainly encourage anyone working or interested in AX to join and follow this particular group.
