Dynamics Customers Assess Self-Service BI to Extend Reach, Reduce Burden on IT

Go directly to Source

If you’re an end user trying to get IT to run a
report in any of the Microsoft Dynamics products you’re familiar with the
drill: Ask IT to run the report. Wait for IT to run the report. And wait. And
wait. And wait.

And it’s not so great on the other side of the
fence, either. If you’re in the IT department, you typically have to devote
precious resources to respond to these requests and, often it ends it turns
into a moving target.

are investing in developing so-called self-service business intelligence (BI)
tools to "untether the end user from BI and untether IT from the end user to
make the end user self sufficient," according to Tristan Ziegler, President and

Go directly to Source

Large, distributed organizations that want to streamline
their processes and technology should consider a two-tier ERP strategy,
according to Rudy Dillenseger, Senior Product Manager, Microsoft Corp. Doing so
will enable them to connect their local, smaller business units to the ERP
system used by their headquarters.

Large organizations often realize that some ERP
solutions are just too complex to adapt to the unique requirements of their
smaller, local entities. But Microsoft believes that  Dynamics AX offers these companies a viable
alternative that lets them easily customize their solutions to meet the specific
requirements of their smaller subsidiaries, implement vertical functionality,
more easily manage changing business requirements and save money, Dillens…

The Case for Using Microsoft Dynamics AX in Chemical Manufacturing

Go directly to Source

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 offers an integrated ERP system for
chemical manufacturers by providing solutions to their common and unique requirements.  Many of these solutions have been recently
introduced with the addition of standard functionality for process
manufacturing, so that Dynamics AX should be considered in the short list for
those firms making an ERP selection decision.
In order to determine whether chemical manufacturers were actually
considering Dynamics AX, I recently completed a survey of 500 large and
mid-size companies.  The survey results -
and the consideration of Dynamics AX as their ERP system – differed between
these two groups.

Microsoft representatives described the event as "a recap of Convergence Europe news for analysts in the US", but for those of you who were not at either one (or at Decisions Fall 2010, where Microsoft’s <a href="http://decisions.msdynamic…
