The Vagaries of Microsoft Dynamics Licensing: Working Around Complexities Can Save $$$, Hassles

Go directly to Source
If you always felt it’s tough to get your arms around
licensing requirements for Microsoft Dynamics and related products, you’re not alone. A new report confirms the challenges.

A Washington-based analyst firm, Directions on Microsoft,

Eight Tips for Handling Inventory Close with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009

Go directly to Source
As the year draws to a close, it’s time to do inventory closing with
Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. From an accounting perspective, this means settling
transactions between issues and receipts, as items can be issued at one value and
received at another value.

While inventory close is no longer required when
using the standard cost method, it is required for other costing methods.
With standard close, differences between the item’s standard cost (used for
issues) and receipt transactions will post to variance accounts, as determined,
resulting in inventory always valued at the standard cost.

So the following points apply to all costing

Dynamics AX 2009 Enterprise Portal Troubleshooting Blank Page Issue

Go directly to Source
We have implemented Dynamics AX 2009 EP portal for one of our business. Users log on to the EP to create/edit/view their timesheets. Recently, we got this issue where suddenly the Edit timesheet page got disappeared. Whenever the user goes to view/edit timesheet, the page was blank.

Solution:

a. Checked the Event viewer and security logs but couldn’t find anything.
b. Restarted IIS but with no luck.
c. Restarted AOS, restarted the web server but still the same error persisted.
d. Checked in sharepoint virtual folder and found that the Edit Timesheet.cs (C# page) file was not there.
e. Finally, went to AOT > Web > Web Files > Page Definitions > EditTimeSheetpage and right-clicked to deploy the same to the web server.

This solved the issue, but still wondering how the page got disappeared!
