“Help us help you,” said Dean Lester, AX general manager for Microsoft. “We like to think of ourselves as very accessible. We really do listen and we will take the feedback.”

Record Retention Made Easy for Microsoft Dynamics: How Stricter Regulations Guide Which Files to Keep

Go directly to Source

Of
all the important tasks associated with managing our business, we rarely focus
on business records. Despite all the published guidelines or programs, we tend

More Firms Join in Extending and Using Microsoft Dynamics AX for Lean Manufacturing

Go directly to Source
Lean manufacturing utilizing Microsoft Dynamics AX is all the rage.

Several developments over the last few months illustrate how rapidly interest in the subject has caught on.

Microsoft a few months ago acquired the lean functionality from consulting firm eBECS. As of August 1, lean manufacturing for Dynamic AX became available as a fully integrated Microsoft product. As part of the joint effort, the partners established the Lean Centre of Excellence, an information resource for users.

Go directly to Source

The news is
out and it’s not good for fans (or adopters) of Microsoft Dynamics Mobile.
Microsoft has discontinued development and support of the Microsoft Dynamics
Mobile product for AX and NAV. Dynamics CRM Mobile is unaffected.

The news
started to make its way around the blogosphere this week, apparently with an
announcement to partners September 1, but some say it’s been known for a long
time and is just now becoming "official." This is the e-mail message reportedly
being sent to partners and other invested stakeholders:

Today Microsoft Dynamics AX and
Microsoft Dynamics NAV have strong mobility solutions in the market developed
by various partners. Tools like Visual Studio as well as the current Microsoft
Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dy…

Unzipping VM files in AX2009: Reflections on Microsoft
Dynamics AX
walks us through the necessary
and (thankfully) quick steps to unzip
: "There are a few things that can go
wrong when unzipping the files for the demo VM. This is one I’ve run into a few
times with new external disks… It is likely that the disk is formatted with
FAT32 and not NTFS that really supports large files sizes like the size of the
VHD files that exist with the demo VM."
