I haven’t personally been to one of these conferences yet, but I hear that it is a good time and you are able to get a lot of good information about attending.

Well this is one AX blog that really surprised me.  It too is a fairly new blog, so I only came across it when I was working on compiling a master list of all the various AX resources.  (Another goal for this site is to help me personally dig deeper into the AX community and share what I learn.)  I think the first time I saw a link to it I didn’t bother to click through because it is hosted on blogger.  A lot of the blogs there seem to be either spam blogs, or never updated.
Well, Arigit’s blog couldn’t be farther from the truth.  Actually, it has moved close to the top of my Google Homepage because it is frequently updated.  That was the first indication that it was a site to pay attention to.  The second one being the good linking.  There are links to other sites and to PartnerSource.

Once again, the only real detraction from the site is it being via blogger.  However many new blogs start there and shift off at some point.  (My personal blog site, jakebarnard.com started as a blogger site and moved off.)  Blogger can just be annoying… trackbacks do not work right, Alexa rankings do not work, etc.  (Alexa rankings are based off of links and traffic to the root domain.  All blogger sites are subdomains, so it will not show a correct ranking for those sites.)

Reguarless of those issues though, if you are in AX (if your reading these reviews and looking at the sites, it is safe to assume you are ), this is a site to check out.  Stop on over and say hi to Arijit.  I don’t know if he is just new to that particular blog, or blogging in general, but either way he is making a fantastic start!

The MSDN Solutions blog is not truly an AX blog, however you can filter the view to show just Dynamics AX related posts.  It is a nice quick way to keep updated from Microsoft, especially if you do not have access to PartnerSource or CustomerSource.  That will set it to view only things tagged with Dynamics AX.  Here is the RSS Feed for the filtered view.

The MS site is actually nice and clean.  The updates and provided links allow a visitor to quickly find the information they are looking for.  The only problem is that items are not posted very often for Dynamics AX.  However, unfiltered will provide more posts and there may be some general posts that can be helpful.

On the various groups people are looking for this whitepaper.
The documentation in SP1 says you will be able to able to find this upgrade whitepaper by visiting PartnerSource.  As a few of us discovered, that isn’t the case at the moment.  However, I spoke with MBS today asking about this issue.  The Whitepaper not showing up on PartnerSource yet is in the process of being corrected, so you should be able to find it there soon.  The whitepaper does exist and is helpful – for some reason it just isn’t showing up at the moment.

Arijit over on his blog, (DAX Guy) has a very nice history of Dynamics AX.

I haven’t had a chance to review his blog yet, but it is certainly at the top of my list.  It is one of the ones on my google homepage, thats for sure.  He updates it quite often so you should always find something new there.

For the developer types out there… this is a Yahoo Group to check out. I am fairly new to this group, having just discovered it in the past week, but it has a large membership and looks to be a great resource.

This is another great group. Once again, I have become a bit of the fan of the Yahoo Groups setup. It really works in this case, and having an archive of messages can really help in dev type issues. Check it out!

Hey all – well I was going to correct the typo in the RSS feed link… but I ran into two problems with it.  It is cached in a few places, and there are of course a few of you who have already subscribed to the feed.  So instead of breaking the link, I just decided to leave the typo as is, since it is fairly out of the way, and doesn’t actually hurt anything other than pride.

I would rather make sure everyone knows when there are updates!  That is one of the two main goals for this sites.  An easy to navigate resource, and a frequently updated site.  Many of the AX blogs I come across are only updated on a monthly basis.  I intend at a minimum of daily updates for everyone.
